Died March 2, 2006
The funeral for Alberta Shadding Barnes, of 801 Devereaux St., will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The officiating minister will be the Rev. Arthur Evans, pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by four sons, Leonard Barnes and Winston Barnes of Greensboro, Harold Barnes of Goldsboro and Carl Barnes of Rosedale, N.Y.; one daughter, Colette Barnes Howard of Greensboro; two sisters, Emma Fennell of Goldsboro and Annie Bryant of Philadelphia; four brothers, Franklin Shadding of Philadelphia and Wiley Shadding, Leonard Shadding and Fred Shadding of Goldsboro; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Lightner Memorial Funeral Home is serving the family.
