PIKEVILLE -- A graveside service for Mattie Batten Taylor, 74, will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Chase Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor died Wednesday at Albemarle Hospital
She was a native of Kenly and was a former resident of Elizabeth City, where she was a member of Berea Baptist Church and the Bethany Bible Class. She was a retired insurance agent.
Her survivors include a brother, Joe S. Batten of Carrollton, Va., a sister, Marry Batten Crocker of Middlesex, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Silas and Alma Ballance Batten, and her husband, Leroy Taylor.
