LAGRANGE -- The funeral for Yvonne Best "Sweet" Artis will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Moderator Michael Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Ray Artis; one daughter, Pamela Artis Buford of Carmel, Ind.; one son, Michael Rence Artis of Goldsboro; five sisters, Eva Mae Speight of Washington, D.C., Doris Johnson of Forrestville, Md., Stella Days of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Annie Lee Best and Brenda Best of Goldsboro; two brothers, John Milton Best of Brandywine, Md., and Garey Marshall Best of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Saturday from 11:30 until 12:45 at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, just prior to the funeral, and will include a Greek-Letter rites ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Easter Best Scholarship Fund at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
