ELMA J. BARFIELD

Elma Jackson Barfield, 76, formerly of Genoa Road, Dudley, died Thursday at the Brian Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barfield was born in Dunn on Oct. 26, 1929, to the late Everett and Mamie Jackson.

She is survived by three sons, Ralph Barfield Jr. and his wife, Beverly, Glen Barfield, and Wayne Barfield, all of Goldsboro; two daughters, Carol Montoya and husband, Mere, of Goldsboro, and Joyce Lamm and husband, Shannon, of Wilson; one brother, John D. Jackson of Dunn; seven grandchildren, Jeffery Barfield, Ashley and Brad Howell, Maria Montoya and Andrew and Madison Lamm; and one great-grandchild, Hailey Aldridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Barfield Sr., one son, Dwain Barfield, and one granddaughter, Sherry Barfield.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Montoya, at 224 Colonial Drive in Goldsboro.
