STELLA SMITH

Stella Lane Smith, 70, of Seven Springs, died Thursday at Britthaven Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lane Cemetery, Hwy. 111 South, Seven Springs. Rev. T.C. West will be officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County to the late Joe and Gladys Best Lane and was married to the late Charles Smith Sr. She was a member of Walker Memorial Church.
She is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles "Eddie" Smith Jr. of Seven Springs, Jimmy Smith of Charlotte, Kenneth Smith of the Nahunta Community and Joe and Tina Smith of Goldsboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Becky Lane of Seven Springs; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and David Berry of Pikeville, Mollie and AD Gurley of Surf City and Mount Olive and Ann and Bob Smith of Seven Springs; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Clark, and three brothers, Ronald Lane, Donald Lane and McRoy Lane.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ann and Bob Smith, 2935 Hwy 111 South, Seven Springs.
