EDNA PRICE

Edna Earle Brown Price went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2006, after a period of declining health.
She was the daughter of the late Jarvis and Effie Brown of Selma. She was preceded in death by her brother, Moses Brown of Morehead City, and her special friend, Larry Keen of Four Oaks.
Born in Selma, North Carolina, she was reared on the Brown family farm. She remained on this land that she loved so dearly until her death.
She graduated from Micro High School and was valedictorian of her class. She was a longtime member of the Micro First Baptist Church.
In her early married years, she was a hard working farm wife. Later, she was employed for over 13 years at the GTE Sylvania plant in Smithfield until the plant's closure. She then worked at Johnston Memorial Hospital and later with the Wilson's Mills School cafeteria until her retirement in 1988. She then worked part-time with the Salvation Army Thrift Store until 1996. Until her health would no longer permit, she volunteered with Cheap Thrills Thrift Shop in Selma (an affiliate of the Johnston County Mental Health Center).
She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Edwards and husband, David, of Selma; her daughter, Sue Bennett and husband, David, of Grantham, and her son, Danny Price and wife, Cathie, of White Lake. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Brown and his wife, Lib, of Morehead City, and a sister-in-law, Zola Brown, also of Morehead City; four grandchildren, Alan Price, Phillip Price, Karen Russo and Tracy Stubblefield, one step-granddaughter, LeaAnn Robinson; and four great-grandchildren, Anthony Russo, Nicholas Russo, Tori Stubblefield and Taylor Stubblefield.
Visitation will be at Parrish Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, February 13. Funeral services will be held at the Parrish Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 14, at 11 a.m. with Elder Harold Pittman and the Rev. Tim Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield, N.C., where she will be laid to rest beside her parents.
Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Johnston County Mental Health Center designated for the Cheap Thrills Thrift Shop.
