JOYCE GURGANUS

Joyce Tyndall Gurganus, 77, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Greene County, she was born May 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Levi and Esther Mitchell Tyndall, and was the widow of George Edward "Buddy" Gurganus. Mrs. Gurganus attended Woods Grove PFWB Church.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Harold Heath will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike, Tony, Brandon, Michael, Ray, and Ricky Gurganus. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Talton and husband, Rusty of Nahunta; a son, Danny Gurganus and wife, Susan, of Mount Olive; brothers, James Tyndall of Grantham, Bob Tyndall of High Point, and Nelson Tyndall of Goldsboro; daughter-in-law, Debbie Moore of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Mandy Hutchinson and husband, Brad, Blake and Brandon Gurganus, Rusti Talton, and Kelly Langston Ezzell and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren Katie Hutchinson and Cohen Ezzell; step-granddaughter Jennifer Powell and husband, Bryan; and step-great-granddaughter Kailey Powell.

Mrs. Gurganus was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Gurganus; and brothers Mike and Pete Tyndall.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the residence of Tammy and Rusty Talton at 501 Pikes Cemetery Road in Pikeville.
