DUDLEY -- Effie Strickland Adams, 82, of 1022 Emmaus Church Road, died Monday at her home.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 in the chapel at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rev. Don Gulledge will officiate.
Mrs. Adams was a Wayne County native, the youngest of 11 children born to the late Anderson and Mary Price Strickland. She was the widow of Edward Braxton Adams and was formerly employed in the housekeeping department at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Grant Chapel Church and also attended Wayne Chapel Church.
Her survivors include one son, Edward Morris Adams of Seven Springs; two daughters, Judy Davis of Dudley and Doris Petrak of Goldsboro; and 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Friday morning.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the family.
