MOUNT OLIVE -- Julia Turner Wells Best, 86, died today at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lila Brock Turner. She was the widow of the late Cecil W. Wells and the late Boyce F. Best. She was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired beautician, owner and operator of Center Beauty Shop.

A long-time resident of West Pollock Street in Mount Olive, in recent years she resided at Glen Care Retirement Center of Mount Olive and more recently at SunBridge Care Center of Mount Olive.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William H. Turner, Ira "Buddy" Turner and Albert Turner Jr.

She is survived by three nephews, W. Carroll Turner and wife, Sharon, Thomas M. "Tommy" Turner and wife, Pam, and David Eugene "Gene" Turner and wife, Kelly, of Mount Olive; a niece, Jacquelyn "Jackie" T. Arthur and husband, Leon, of Mount Olive; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Edna Ruth C. Turner, Lucille L. Turner and Louise E. Turner of Mount Olive.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home chapel with Christopher Turner officiating. Entombment will be in Maplewood Cemetery of Mount Olive.

An hour of visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. At other times, family and friends will be received at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Carroll Turner, 604 N. Center St., Mount Olive.
