MAURICE LETCHWORTH
LAGRANGE -- Maurice Dobson Letchworth, 68, of 4838 Alphonso Walters Road, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Letchworth was born in Lenoir County to the late Benjamin and Bessie Leneave Letchworth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Gueco Letchworth in 1996.
Mr. Letchworth retired as a Tech Sergeant from the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a great love of martial arts, was a 3rd Degree Blackbelt in Judo and enjoyed working on automobiles.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday from Rouse Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Letchworth is survived by two sons, Maurice "Eric" Letchworth of LaGrange, Michael Kim Letchworth and wife, Elizabeth and their son, Andrew of LaGrange; two brothers, Leo Letchworth of Newport News, Va., and Thurston Letchworth of LaGrange; three sisters, Dorothy B. Robinson of Clinton, Gladys Horne of Fayetteville and Dixie Dixon of New Bern.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Letchworth, 107 Abbey Frank St., LaGrange.
Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
