THOMAS HARRINGTON

Nov. 27, 1917-Jan. 7, 2006

Thomas Edison Harrington, 88, a native of Wayne County, died Saturday at Bath County Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Va.

He was the son of the late Marion Lee and Lyda Harris Harrington and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He retired after 35 years of employment with the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Goldsboro Postal Credit Union. He also was a member of the American Legion Post in Goldsboro and was an avid Bath County High School Charger fan and supporter.

He is survived by three children, Thomas E. Harrington Jr. of Goldsboro, Georia H. Saunders of Midlothian, Va., and Debbie H. Anderson of Hot Springs; and four grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McLaughlin Funeral Home. Burial will be today in Willow Dale Cemetery.
