Sachiko T. McCarty, 70, of Lynn Avenue, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A private burial will be held.
Mrs. McCarty was born in Japan and was the daughter of the late Genshin Tiara and Kamado Takaesu Tiara.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Clyde McCarty; one son, Monty M. McCarty and his wife, Lisa, of Clayton; one daughter, Kathy McCarty of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Carman and Milo; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Penny's For Heaven in care of Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, 203 Cox Boulevard, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534.
