STOKES -- William Roland "Billy" Fleming, 66, brother of Rosalyn Fleming Lomax of Goldsboro, died at his home on Tuesday.

The family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date.

Mr. Fleming was the son of the late Roland and Neva Fleming. He retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Company with 39 years of service. He was a member of Crown Point Masonic Lodge No. 708, the Sudan Temple of New Bern and Sweet Gum Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid sportsman and was the winner of Overton's Big Buck Contest in 2004.

In addition to his sister, Mr. Fleming is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis Barnhill Fleming; a daughter, Michelle F. Wall of Stokes; and a son, William Roland "Chip" Fleming Jr. of Stokes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pactolus Volunteer Fire Department, 5858 US Hwy. 264 East, Greenville, N.C., 27834; or Parkinson's Disease Research, c/o East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, 600 Moye Boulevard, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
