KINSTON -- Ruby Mae Hawkins Heath, 92, mother of Peggy Heath Dunn of Goldsboro, died Wednesday.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Neuse Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry E. Dunn will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Heath was the daughter of the late Walter Vance and Izzie Sanderson Hawkins and the widow of Horace Ray Heath Sr. A lifelong resident of Kinston, she was a member of Neuse Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother she is survived by a son, Horace Ray Heath Jr. of McDonough, Ga.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va., 23058, or to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, Va., 22038-1131.
The family will receive friends at the church following the funeral.
