James Clinton Tart, 85, of 700 Second Street, died Sunday at his home.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with Pastor Jackie Hill officiating.

Mr. Tart was born in Greene County to the late Loyd Vancie Tart and Lillie Bell Shirley Tart. He retired from Cherry Hospital was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 A.F.&A.M.

Mr. Tart is survived by his wife, Ruth VanHoy Tart; two sisters, Clara Bell Smith of Snow Hill and Audrey Brion of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two brothers, David Walker Tart of Hinesville, Ga., and S.J. Tart of Dudley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
