William "Bill" Ivey Franks Jr, 73, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Wake County to the late William Ivey and Helen Franks, he was the grandfather of the late Chris Hill. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
A funeral service will be held Sunday (today) at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Pastor John Norman will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Franks is survived by his wife, Audrey Franks of Goldsboro; one son, Curtis and wife, Liz Franks of Goldsboro; four daughters, Jan Phillips of England, Helen and husband, Wayne Darby of Pampano Beach, Fla., Donna Borman and fiancee, Dan Smith of Pampano Beach, Fla., and Linda and husband, Ronnie Moye of LaGrange; one brother, Charles and wife, Charlene Franks of Colonial Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, Kristy Moye, Casey Conterras, Ciji Borman, Brandon Franks, Cameron Franks, Tim Phillips, Vicki Phillips, and Shawn Moye; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Ish; and friend, Charles Mercer of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service, and at other times, they will be at the home.
Flowers are welcome, however the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
