Marienellore C. "Nandu" Nandakumar, 55, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of India, he was the son of Hamsa Bai of India and the late M.B. Chelvaraj. He was employed as a supervisor with Sam's Club in Goldsboro.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Hariharan Nandakumar of India; his sisters, Prema Sriraman and husband, R.V., of Goldsboro; Vanitha Santhanakrishnan of India; and Hasha Shankar and husband, Dr. Shankar, of India; his brother, Prabhalkumar and wife, Sudha, of India; his nephews, Rajesh Sriraman and wife, Natasha; Lingesh Sriraman and wife, Regina; Karthik Prabhalkumar; and Rakesh Prabhalkumar; and seven grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Triangle/Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 2210 Millbrook Road, Suite 109, Raleigh, NC 27604.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and Saturday following the service.
