SNOW HILL -- Theresa Carol Sandlin Matthews, 51, died Saturday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2:30 in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Allen Ham officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
Mrs. Matthews was a native of Lenoir County and was the daughter of Carl B. Sandlin of Kinston and the late Velma Teachey Sandlin.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, John Brookie Matthews Jr.; one daughter, Vanessa Matthews Hernandez of Kinston; one sister, Karen Davis of Kinston; and three brothers, David Sandlin and Carl B. Sandlin Jr. of Kinston and Donnie Sandlin of Goldsboro.
The family received friends on Sunday evening at the home of Karen Davis, 3846 Ferrell Road.
Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
