Marvin Henderson Odom, 77, of 2126 Old Grantham Road, died Tuesday at Britthaven of Goldsboro.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Dann Patrick will officiate. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Odom was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Gilbert Ray and Mary Coates Odom. He worked as a heavy-equipment operator with Stackhouse and was a former member of Oak Street Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Odom; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheree and Randy Lancaster of Pikeville and Bethany Daniels of Fremont; one sister, Stella Hatch of Dudley; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one nephew and four nieces.

The family will receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home immediately following the service tonight.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1201 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
