JAMES McSWAIN

RICHFIELD -- James Hugh "Chip" McSwain, 59, died Monday at his home at 219 W. Church St., Richfield.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Green Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Rehobeth Methodist Church Cemetery

Mr. McSwain was a native of Stanly County and was the son of Hugh and Bernice McElfresh McSwain of Mt. Pleasant. He was the owner of McSwain Construction Company and was employed for over 20 years with Wagoner Construction Co. in Salisbury. He was a member of Green Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Goldwing Road Riders Assoc. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Toler McSwain of the home; one son, Brent McSwain of Pleasant Prairie, Wisc.; one daughter, Crystal Vickery of Richfield; three stepdaughters, Angela Jackson of Vass, Rhonda Baker of Fremont and Tracy Byrd of Fremont; one stepson, Buster Baker of Fremont; two brothers, Chuck McSwain and David McSwain of Mt. Pleasant; and three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle.
