Dover Resident

James "Jack" Maxton Barrow, 77, of Alterra Sterling House, Goldsboro, formerly of 216 N. Wilson St., Dover, died Saturday.

He was a self-employed logger and farmer, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Edith Barrow; his parents, Joseph Benjamin and Lucy Mae Evans Barrow; and one brother, Ben Barrow Jr.

He was a member of Pilgrim's Home Free Will Baptist, and attended Dover Methodist Church in Dover.

He is survived by two sons, David Barrow and wife, Rita, and James Barrow and wife, Regina, all of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Benjamin David Barrow, James Barrow, and Nick and Katie Barrow; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Riggs of Dover, and June Jones of Greenville; and two brothers, Charles Barrow of Dover, and William Earl Barrow of Kinston.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The Reverends Seth Jones and Jimmy Sowers will officiate. Visitation will immediately follow the service.

The family will be at the home os his son, James Barrow, 790 Dyke Smith Road, LaGrange.
