ADOLPH HOWARD JR

Adolph "Bud" Howard Jr., 87, of 484 Outlaws Bridge Road, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Howard was born in Lenoir County to the late Adolph Howard Sr. and Mildred Smith Howard. Bud served with the US Army during World War II, was a member of American Legion Post 379 and was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Mr. Howard was prceded in death by his first wife, Maggie Stroud Howard.

Mr. Howard was a member of the 40&8 which is an organization for members of the American Legion who have shown exemplary service and served during Congressionally recognized periods of war time.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday from Rouse Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Sutton will officiate. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday from Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Pink Hill.

Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Carrie Outlaw Howard; two step-children, Ronda Outlaw of Greensboro and Ronnie Outlaw of Goldsboro; two sisters, Marguerite Hales of LaGrange and Dorothy Grady and husband, J. David Grady Sr. of Goldsboro; a step-grandchild, Cameron O. Weaver and husband, Adam; and two step-great-grandchildren, Tagan and Ryleigh.

The family will receive friends Sunday following the service, and at other times, they will be at the home.

Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
