Warsaw Resident

WARSAW -- Garland R. Pate, 88, died Friday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.

Son of the late George Henry Pate and Lettie Outlaw Pate, he was a retired farmer. He had served in the U.S. Army.

He was a long-time resident of Warsaw, but in recent years, he had been a resident of the Brian Center in Wallace.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The Rev. Ferrell Miller will officiate.

He is survived by a brother, Cecil Pate of Willard; a special friend, Geraldine J. Wray of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents. Mr. Pate was preceded in death by three brothers, J. Willard Pate, George Frank Pate, and Melvin Pate.

Family and friends are welcome to the home of Mrs. Geraldine Wray, 688 Penney Branch Road , Warsaw.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive.
