Rudolph "Bill" Potocnick, 80, of 2100 Granville Drive, died Friday at Sunbridge Care in Mount Olive.

A native of Harbor, Ore., he was the son of the late Matt and Mary Dolanc Potocnick and was married to the late Ethel Potocnick. Mr. Potocnick had worked at the Naval Shipyard and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Pineview Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Rev.. Aubrey Jones will officiate. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, Va.

Mr. Potocnick is survived by his wife, Johnnie Burch Potocnick; a step-daughter, Patricia Amory of Goldsboro; his step-son, John Breashears of Goldsboro; his two sisters; 12 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Pam Duty, and a brother.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 3357 North U.S. 117, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the church.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Goldsboro.
