EDWARD WARREN JR.

Died Sept. 16, 2005

Edward Rudolph "Red" Warren Jr., 83, of The Pines, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held this afternoon at 3 at Willow Dale Cemetery, with Dr. Homer Morris officiating.

Mr. Warren was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Edward Rudolph Warren and Helen Creech Warren. He graduated from the University of North Carolina and served as a B-17 pilot with the U.S. Air Force during World War II He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Goldsboro Rod & Gun Club, and B.P.O.E Lodge 139. He loved antiques and his hobbies were hunting, fishing, golf and billiards.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ellen Lee Lovelace Warren; two sons, Edward Rudolph "Rudy" Warren III and his wife, Kay, of Wrightsville Beach and William Lovelace "Bill" Warren and his wife, Lucy, of Goldsboro; one brother, Robert Creech "Bob" Warren of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren, Ward Warren, Willis Warren, Paul Warren, Ellen Grisette and Jennifer Warren.

His other son, David Wesley Warren, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service, and other times at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Warren,
109 Meadow Lark Road, Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 East Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, La-Grange.
