Theona Kirk Faircloth, 79, died Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Faircloth was born in Ester Springs, Tenn., on Jan. 2, 1926, to the late John Kirk and Virgil Duncan Kirk. She was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostal Christian Assemblies.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sherwood Howell officiated. Burial was in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Faircloth is survived by her children, Bonnie Kay Cox of Snellsville, Ga., Carolyn Everett and husband, Herb, of Anchorage, Alaska, Buddy Faircloth of Goldsboro, and Mary Klotz and husband, Tom, of Leonardtown, Md., and Kathy Faircloth of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Dominic Stevens, Pamela Truax, Herbert Everett II, Michael Everett, Linda Faye Merritt, Jamie Ann Tyree, Robert Klotz, Anthony Allen Fairlcoth, Kari McCallister and Bryan Faircloth; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Geraldine Day of Tennessee, Norma Jean Cortner of Tennessee, Annette Kirk of Arizona, Peggy Seals of Tennessee, and Joyce Lynn of Tennessee; and her brothers, John F. Kirk of Tennessee and Clarence Kirk of Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Faircloth, and her brother, Michael Kirk.

The family received friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
