Denise A. Carlson, 57, lost her courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) on Thursday, September 1, 2005.
A remembrance and Celebration of her life service will be held 5:30 p.m. Sunday, September 4, at Peace Presbyterian church with the Dr. Paul Lang officiating.
Denise lived in Goldsboro and was an active member of the Goldweavers, and an officer of the North Carolina Basketmakers Association, and until recently, a student at ECU. She was known by many names; creative artist, good friend, eldest sister of nine siblings, loving wife, caring mother, and her favorite title; beloved grandma to her two grandsons, Ried and Drew Carlson.
Her life was a celebration and so too will be her passing.
In lieu of flowers, Denise requested donations be made to a "charity of choice".
