EVYONNE FEREBEE

The funeral for Evyonne Patricia Ferebee will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Greater St. John Free Will Baptist Church. Pastor William A. Mitchell Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Sampson Family Cemetery in Moyock.
Mrs. Ferebee was the daughter of Mavis E. Harris of Moyock and the late James Sampson and was married to the late Larry D. Ferebee. She graduated from Joseph P. Knapp High School and received a degree in nursing from Albemarle College and an associate's degree from Wayne Community College. She had been employed as a social worker and child care administrator. She was a member of Greater St. John Free Will Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board and in other capacities until her health declined.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Ferebee is survived by three sons, Kelvin E. (Angela) Ferebee and Brian L. (Surthera) Ferebee of Dudley and Larry D. Ferebee Jr. of Greensboro; three brothers, James (Nadine) Sampson of Virginia Beach, Va., Julius (Mamie) Sampson and Roger (Alicia) Sampson of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Rosa M. (Danny) of Elizabeth City, Deborah D. (Luke) Gallop of Moyock and Valerie Jones of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Kelvin E. Ferebee II, Kayla D. Ferebee and Aljone H. Faison; a brother-in-law, Ellis Ferebee; five sisters-in-law, Yvonne F. Mullen, Sandra (Nathaniel) Holmes, Toni Jones, Yvette (Anthony) Johnikins and Sharon Johnson; and several aunts and uncles and a host of nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Robert and Johnnie Sampson, and a sister, Sarah E. Sampson.
The viewing hours will be from 1 until 6 on Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.
