Roger Allen Carlyle, 57, of Kinston, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with Allan Ham officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Carlyle was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Lenoir County to the late Joseph Levi Carlyle and Effie Mae Creel Carlyle. He retired from Dobbs School, where he worked as a juvenile correctional officer. He loved the beach, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Julie Carlyle Burkett; one sister, Hilda Carlyle Freeman; one brother, Joseph Ray Carlyle; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Burkett, 2682 Pinewood Drive, Kinston.
