Leland Stanford Sutton, 75, of 180 Slick Rock Road, died Wednesday at Wake Medical Center.
Mr. Sutton was born in Wayne County to the late William Gordon Sutton and Alice Garris Sutton. He was a retired oil truck driver with Seven Springs Supply Company.
A graveside service was held this morning at 10:30 at Pineview Cemetery, under the direction of Rouse Funeral Home.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Margaret Chandler Sutton; five children, LaVerne Barwick and husband, Willard, of LaGrange, Johnny Bill Sutton and wife, Ruby, of Mount Olive, Leland Scott Sutton of Carthage, Kathy Smith and husband, C.W., of Seven Springs and Anthony Clark Sutton and wife, Jean, of Florida; one brother, Chester Sutton and wife, Camilla, of Newton; one sister, Christine Uzzell and husband, Preston, of Goldsboro; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abigail Sutton.
The family received friends following the graveside service, and at other times at the residence.
Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
