John Edward "Red" Woodard, 90, of 610 Fedelon Trail died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Wingfield and the Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Private interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Pete Cerny officiating.

Born Wayne County, Mr. Woodard was the son of the late Richard Warren Woodard and Nannie Lois Hill Woodard. He was a retired machinist and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Aline York Woodard; two daughters and their husbands, Jeanine W. and Joseph Parrott of South Carolina and Gay W. and Pete Cerny Goldsboro; one son and his wife, Richard W. and Jane Woodard of Goldsboro; and 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin E. Woodard.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534; or the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
