WILLIAM BROWN

William "Bill" H. Brown died Monday at his residence in Satellite Beach, Fla.
Born in Goldsboro, Mr. Brown moved to Satellite Beach in 1956. He worked at KSC for 24 years and served in WWII as a radio operator.
He attended North Caro-lina State University, prior to serving two years in the Navy during the war; after which, he graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in math and science. His career included working for Philco in Japan; Western Electric; Convair, on the Atlas rocket program; RCA; General Electric; and NASA/KSC. He retired from KSC in 1988.
Mr. Brown was an amateur radio operator, private pilot and member of the Indian River Amateur Radio Club (IRAC); the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA); the Quiet Birdmen (QB); and the Young Eagles, pilots who provide children with flight experiences.
He was part owner of the radio station, WWBC, in Cocoa, and sole owner of WOGO, in New Smyrna during the early 70's. Bill's amateur radio call sign was W4KMZ.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Enola, two daughters Billie Kaye Brown and Shirley Roberts; and one granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.
