Bruce Sherrill Herring, 59, of 136 Louisville Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Jarman officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery.
Mr. Herring was born in Wayne County to Dorothy Davis Herring of Goldsboro and the late Bruce Clifton Herring. He was self-employed in the construction business.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marie Gregory Herring; his sons, Steven Scott Herring and Jeffrey Sherrill Herring of Goldsboro; his stepsons, Cornelius Wayne Smith and Chadwick Bryan Smith of Goldsboro; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Renee Horne of Goldsboro; his brothers, Michael Herring of Goldsboro, Elton Herring of LaGrange, Glenn Herring of Mount Olive, and Johnny Herring of Pikeville; his sisters, Edith Rose Smith and Betty Jo Turnage of Pikeville; and three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his residence.
