PINE LEVEL -- The funeral for Edward Earle Thompson Jr., 48, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. Roger Banks will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Princeton Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson died Saturday at WakeMed, Raleigh.
He was born in Johnston County, the second son of the late Edward Earle, Sr. and Sara Lee Thompson.
His survivors include one son, Alexander Warren, and daughter, Stephany Christina Thompson; on e brother, Robert Arthur Thompson of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Jennie van der Helm and Nancy Parrish of Selma and Lori Smith of Smithfield; and four grandchildren.
