Shirley Hooks Scott, 69, of Kenly, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service was held 7 p.m. Saturday in the Coley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. George Arant officiated. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. today in the Kenly Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Stephenson of Kenly; one sister, Johnnie Jean Pittman of Virginia; two grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Scott, and her parents, John Henry and Beatrice Holland Hooks.
The family received friends Saturday following the evening service.
