Gail Partin Kessler, 56, passed away peacefully in her home in Gulf Breeze, Fla., on August 8 with her husband by her side.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert W. Partin Jr. She is survived by her husband, David; her mother Gertrude Hood Partin, her brother, Gary Partin and wife Nancy, her sister, Isabelle Weeks and husband Buddy, all of Goldsboro; nieces and nephews, Meghann Partin Adams and husband Andy of Raleigh; Brantley Partin of Greensboro, Elizabeth Weeks of Goldsboro and Todd Weeks of Wilmington.

Gail was born July 7, 1949, in Goldsboro. After two years of college, she joined Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant for over 22 years. When she married her husband in 1990, she became a tireless supporter and companion in his work as a Santa Rosa County Commissioner. She was elected president of the Santa Rosa County Republican Women's Club for eight years and served as Santa Rosa County's State Committeewoman for six years. In 2004, she was a nominee for the Sacred Heart Hospital's Spirit of Women Award. People were drawn to her because of her warm and outgoing personality. Her philosophy of life was to "life everyday like it was Christmas and every night like New Year's Eve."

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

Memorial services will be held August 10 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze.
