THELMA ARTIS
Thelma Waters Artis, of 258 Red Hill Road, Fremont, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by one sister, Elouise Waters of Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Rossie Waters of Goldsboro; two brothers-in-law, the Rev. Johnnie Sherrod and George Artis of Goldsboro; an adopted nephew, L.D. "Dee Bird" Newsome of Goldsboro; a devoted nephew, Haywood Waters of Forestville, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 until 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro.
