CARIS ADAMS

BENSON -- Caris D. Adams, 68, of 3665 Woods Crossroads Road, died Tuesday at his residence.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. The Rev. Glenn Fell and the Rev. Sam Worley will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Johnston County to the late Delma and Vira McLamb Adams. He was a 1954 graduate of Meadow High School and attended Kings Business College in Raleigh. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Ford Motor Company with 27 years of service. He was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, was a member of the choir, and held other positions in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Wood Adams; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ellen and Ken Clifton of MeGee's Crossroads; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley Caris Adams of Goldsboro and Randy Wood and Annette Adams of Four Oaks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Zolene A. and Tom Johnson of Benson and Emma Jean A. and Norman Coe of Coats; brothers and sister-in-law, Donnie Adams of Benson and Gale and Diane Adams of Benson; seven grandchildren, Conner Adams, Kailey Adams, Nicholas Adams, Lauren Adams, Luke Adams, Blake Clifton and Brett Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
