ALFRED F. BELONGIE JR.
Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Alfred Frederick Belongie Jr., 74, of 1057 Stoney Creek Church Road, died today at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Mike Williams will officiate. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Belongie was born in Escanaba, Mich., on Jan. 29, 1931, to the late Alfred Frederick Belongie Sr. and Theresa Tinert Belongie. He was a member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Belongie; one son, John Belongie, and his wife, Leeann, of Oxford; one daughter, Terry Fields Lee, and her husband, Johnny, of Ponchatoula, La.; three grandchildren, Berkeley Fields, Samantha Belongie and Alexandria Belongie; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Adkins, and her husband, Willie, of Dudley.
The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday evening at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church, North NC 111 Hwy., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
