ELLIE RICHARDSON SR.

Ellie Richardson Sr., 90, died Thursday, April 28, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Joe A. Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Hooks Grove Church Cemetery in Pikeville.

Mr. Jackson was born in Wayne County on Dec. 18, 1914, to the late Daniel and Glennie Hill Richardson. He was the husband of the late Clara Coley Richardson and was a member of Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Live Wire Electric Company in 1984.

He is survived by one daughter, Clara Richardson Artis of Goldsboro, with whom he lived; three sons, Ellie Richardson Jr. (Hattie), Morris E. Richardson Sr. (Vernease), and Harold Richardson Sr. (Shirley), all of Goldsboro; five sisters, Alma Simmons of Goldsboro, Nina Richardson of Dudley, Lila Ruffin of Norfolk, Va., Clyde Jones of Crestwell, N.C., and Maxine Grantham (Julius) of Belleville, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Gloria Richardson of Goldsboro, Harold Richardson Jr. and Morris Richardson Jr. of Baltimore, Md., Candice Holloway of Durham, and Phillip M. Thompson of the home.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Clara Artis, 1707 N. George St.

The viewing will be on Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.
