CHARLES E. HOWELL

PIKEVILLE -- Charles E. Howell, 73, of 1149 Buck Swamp Road, died Tuesday at home.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Reverends Doug Seymour and Edsel Hooks will officiate.

Mr. Howell was born in Wayne County to the late Charlie and Margaret Chestnut Howell and was married to Carolyn Hooks Howell.

He was employed for 15 years as a brick mason at Claridge State Nursery.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Howell, Jr. of Dublin, Ga., and Michael and Tammy Howell of Goldsboro; two daughters, Catherine Howell and Myra Howell, both of the home; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Emilee Howell.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.
