EVA MINTER

Eva Rose Minter, 78, of Blue Ridge, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Hattie Barnes Rose of Princeton, N.C.; brothers, Ben, Jack, Norman "Stumpy," and John Rose of North Carolina; and sisters, Naomi Mitchell, Thelma Edgerton, Annie Mae Boyd and Ethel Parrish, all of North Carolina.

Surviving are her loving and faithful husband of 61 years, Curtis Minter; one son, Vernon Darrell Minter of Hardy; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Ronald L. Lucas of Fincastle; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Jeanne and Robert A. Miles Jr. of Midlothian, Va.; her beloved grandchildren, Mandeline Lucas Hetzel, Jason Lucas, Jordan R. Miles and Margaux A Miles; and step-great-grandson, Dylan Blankenship.

Eva was a long-time employee of Mick or Mack Grocery. Her passion in life was gardening, which she shared with friends and family.

Funeral services were held at Oakey's East Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2005, with the Rev. Kenneth Lane officiating. Interment was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Oakey's East Chapel.
