NORMA PATE

Norma Newsome Pate, 89, of 473 Stoney Creek Church Road, died Sunday.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Daughtry officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pate was a native of Wilson County and was a member of Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church. Se she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Bessie Moore Newsome and the widow of Liston Pate.

Surviving are three daughters, Melba Gurley and husband Edgar Gurley Jr. of Goldsboro, Linda Morgan and husband Ron of Potomac Falls, Va., and Brenda Wooten and husband Jimmy of Goldsboro; one sister, Mildred Griffin of Florida; one brother, Reginald Newsome and wife Eloise of Lucama; five grandchildren, Christopher Gurley and wife Michelle, Melanie Bishop and husband Stevie, Gregory Morgan, Kristina Alexander and husband Gregory, and William H. Barfield, IV; and six great grandchildren, Courtney Bishop, Morgan Gurley, Caroline Gurley, Rachel Rice, Justin Rice, and Kirsten Barfield.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral home following the service tonight, and other times at the residence of Edgar Jr. and Melba Gurley, 471 Stoney Creek Church Road.

Memorial donations may be made to the Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church, in care of Mildred Mercer, 403 S. Best Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
