JUNE THURMAN
LAGRANGE -- June Thurman, 76, of 208 East James Street, died Wednesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. Pastor Arnold Ball will officiate.
Ms. Thurman was born in Robeson County to the late William Edward Greene and Mildred Kennedy Greene. She was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel Evangeline Greene; and three brothers, Lloyd E. "Little Boy" Greene, William Nelson "Buddy" Greene and Dennis Carr Greene.
Surviving are three sons, Donald Thurman, Kelly Thurman and Timothy Thurman; one daughter, Amye Thurman; two sisters, Evelyn Greene Atchison and Matilda "Sister" Greene Sykes, of LaGrange; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Saturday, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivey L. Atchison, 205 Firetower Road, LaGrange.
