JEAN PILKINGTON

Jean Carol Whitley Pilkington, 63, of Kenly, died Friday evening from injuries received in an automobile accident.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate. Burial will be in Sanders Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Brogden.

Ms. Pilkington was born in Johnston County on June 18, 1941, to Woodrow Whitley of Smithfield and the late Inez Webster Whitley. She was a member of Sanders Chapel Baptist Church in Brogden.

She is survived by two sons, Dean Pilkington of Kenly and John Pilkington and wife, Crystal, of Kenly; four daughters, Charlene Pilkington, Susan Pilkington and Debra Pilkington of Kenly and Lisa Pilkington of Benson; her father, Woodrow Whitley of Smithfield; two brothers, Harvey Whitley and wife, Betty, of Georgia and Roger Whitley and wife, Marlene, of Georgia; five sisters, Nora Whitley of Georgia, Judy Whitley of Kenly, Patricia Oliver and husband, Larry, of Pine Level, Elizabeth Wiggins of Garner and Edith Pittman and husband, Wayne, of Garner; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Carl Culifer of Kenly.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, and other times the residence, 3292 Hickory Crossroads in Kenly.
