ELIZABETH CRUMPLER

Elizabeth Davis Hall Crumpler, 86, died Saturday at Cypress Glen Retirement Home in Greenville, where she had made her home for the past four years.

Mrs. Crumpler was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Clifton Davis and Carrie Naomi Perkins Davis. She was married to the late Herbert H. Hall and Elmer H. Crumpler. Mrs. Crumpler graduated from Pikeville High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her masters at Appalachian University. She taught Home Economics for 15 years and for 30 years worked in library science, retiring at Montclair Elementary School in Charlotte.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Reverends Bryan Huffman and Dr. Reginald Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.

Mrs. Crumpler is survived by her sisters, Katherine Davis Smith of Pikeville, Carrie Davis Ponder of Raleigh, and Hilda Davis Jennings of Clinton, Tenn.; her brother, Ramon L. Davis of Kinston; 16 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church St., Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Smith, 103 Collingwood Drive, Pikeville.
