ISAAC M. SPEARS
MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Isaac Matthew Spears, 71, of 419 Oakwood Ave., Sanford, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Elbert Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mr. Spears died early Thursday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.
A Wilkes County native, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee and Isadora Minton Spears and was a retired maintenance employee of the Charlotte Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Spears of the home; a son, Jerry Spears of Sanford; two daughters, Teresa Reece of Sanford and Angela Solis of Pink Hill; a brother, Bob Spears of North Wilkesboro; a sister, Fannie Church of North Wilkesboro; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Sunday during the hour prior to the funeral, and at other times at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Herbert Davis, 102 Tillman Street, Mount Olive.
