WILLIAM G. SULLIVAN

MOUNT OLIVE --William G. "Bill" Sullivan, 81, of 827 Bethel Church Road, died Wednesday morning.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Sullivan was the son of the late Ivey and Lila Dail Sullivan. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a farmer, and a long-time member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for 38 years. He served as Soil and Water Conservation supervisor for 40 years and was the first president of the Oak Ridge Community Building.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Hussey Sullivan of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda S. and Ronald Cherry of Goldsboro; two sisters, Helen Sullivan of Mount Olive and Sannie D. Deans of Raleigh; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beneshia S. Price.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 7 until 9, and at the home at other times.
