MARGARET DENTON

Margaret Baker Denton, 57, died Thursday, March 24, 2005.

Born in Nash County, she was the daughter of the late Tommie Ruffin and Dorothy Burgess Baker. Margaret was retired from N.E.E.D. Inc. with 32 years of dedicated service. His passion in life was traveling and her Senior Citizens Club that she coordinated and dearly loved. Many people enjoyed going places and doing things they would never have the opportunity to do without the commitment of this devoted leader. She will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of being acquainted with her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, John Calvin Baker, Billy Bernard Baker and Tommie Baker Jr. and a special brother-in-law, James C. Breedlove. Surviving are her husband, Jerry Wayne Denton of the home; her son, Patrick Clayton Denton and girlfriend Cassie Smith of Nashville; sisters, Jean Baker Joyner of Rocky Mount, Barbara Ann Baker Breedlove of Goldsboro, Patsy Baker page and husband Clyde of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funerals and Cremations in Rocky Mount today from 7 until 9.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Scott Gleason officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
