ELIJAH ALTMAN SR.
Elijah Altman Sr., 71, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. Burial will be in Old Atkinson Cemetery in Bentonville.
Mr. Altman was the son of the late Lena Altman and was the owner of Altman's Garage. He attended White Oak School and worked as an automobile mechanic until his health declined.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Justice Newsome Altman; six daughters, Vera Daphine Altman, Cynthia Ann Allen, Rose Mary Howell, Susan Elizabeth McLean, Veronica Faye Davis and Teresa Gail Hinnant; and two sons, Lawrence Stephen Altman and Elijah Altman Jr.; four half brothers; four half sisters; and 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be from 2 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at McIntyre Funeral Home and the family will be present from 7 until 8 p.m. to receive friends.
